Emma’s June Favourites

It’s the beginning of a new month, so I thought I’d share with you some of the things I’ve been loving over June.

Redken Powder Grip:Redken.jpg

I never thought I’d have a favourite hair product, seeing as I generally don’t make an effort with my hair (you can probably tell), but ever since my hairdresser recommended Redken Powder Grip I will seriously never look back. Having thin and fine hair means it always looks like a flat pancake draped over my head, and looks greasy pretty quickly. If anyone has the same issues, then this is definitely the product for you. It’s a really simple product to use as well which makes it even better! I just sprinkle the powder onto my roots, let it settle a little and gently rub it in through my hair. As it’s a mattifying product, it stops my hair looking greasy and adds volume that actually lasts. Shout out to the Redken Root Lifting Spray that I’m also a big fan of.

LUSH Celestial Facial Moisturiser:Moisturiser

My skin has always been really dry to the point I get dry skin flakes (not a good look!) and I remember getting my first ever facial, loving the feeling of being so relaxed. Afterwards, the therapist had a chat with me about my skin and explained all the products she’d used. I was probably only about 16 and what she said has stayed with me ever since – “your skin is so dehydrated, dry skin wrinkles much earlier”. Since then, I have made it my mission to prevent this from happening by drinking insane amounts of water, and endlessly trying moisturisers to no avail (often turning red as a beetroot because my skin is so sensitive). This LUSH moisturiser is the first one I’ve managed to use to the end of the bottle (well, tub) and that’s because I truly love it. It feels amazing on my skin and consistently rehydrates it. I’ve also heard really good reviews about their million-dollar moisturiser, so if anyone has tried this please let me know in the comments! I’d also love any other recommendations for dry and dehydrated skin.

Kylie LipKits:

Ok, so I may have accidently fallen asleep with the shade Kourt K still on my lips, so you can imagine the shock on my face when I woke up the next morning with it still perfectly intact. Despite having had a three-course meal with absolutely no touch ups the night before, this LipKit looked as if I’d just applied it! (well pretty much) My lips are often quite dry and chapped, so I was worried about how the liquid effect would look on me, but it was no more drying than a lot of other lipsticks that I already wear. It was also a lot easier to apply than I imagined (I don’t have a steady hand, so I was nervous) and I’m so impressed that I’ve ordered the shades; True Brown, Exposed and Heir, so I’m pretty excited!

ASOS Mom Jeans:

Well I couldn’t really do a favourites without talking about these, I wear them so often that I need two pairs because I can’t wash them quick enough. If you asked any of my friends to guess what I’ll be wearing they’ll say these (and probably a striped tee – who doesn’t love stripes though). I’m such a casual dresser, always in a cute tee or a sweater, so they work with everything I own.

Urban Outfitters No. 04: Teakwood & Tobacco Soy Candle:

The candle of my dreams. Having finished university, I now find myself in a long-distance relationship (CRY!) and this candle actually gets me through. It smells like a smoky men’s aftershave (so sexy) and although of course it is no replacement for my boyfriend, I won’t lie it’s a pretty close second.

Polaroid Instax Mini Printer:IMG_0486

This is defo pricey, and in a moment of absolute madness I bought one (bye bye to the last of my student loan – call it a graduation gift!). Do I regret it? Absolutely not! Although any suggestions for what to do with all my printed polaroids are welcomed with open arms. Basically, it connects to your phone and you can print pictures on cute mini polaroids. Originally, I wanted to get one of the polaroid cameras, but with the price of the film I was super worried that I wouldn’t like the pictures and I’d waste money. With the printer I can see the photos on my phone before I print them which is so much better, what more could you need?
